Jesus, just get a watch that fits you. It's like wearing a shirt that actually fits. For people who have small round wrists, wearing a 36-38mm would not look out of place. Wearing a bigger watch will not increase your wrist size. In fact, it will just draw more attention to the fact that you are a wristlet. Do not allow your insecurities to get you to waste your money and make you look like a shit clown in the process.

The size of the watch also depends on what you are wearing with that watch. For formal wear, small conservative watches are often seen as more appropriate. For something more casual (especially short-sleeves shirts), bigger watches look better on bare wrists.
