reminder that, fugly unbalanced watch it is, it's possible they made it that way:
lange never wanted to release a steel "sports" and jump on the rotting roke/nautilus daisy chain
in all their rhetoric up to this point it was never mentioned as a priority
i think there may have been some instances where they specifically said they wouldn't
however lange isn't independent and has to do what its master tells it to do
so when richemont execs want lange to try to compete in the played out as fuck high end luxury steel sports category (you know the one where every contender fails miserably and the long reigning knigs still reign supreme?) lange had to rush out and design the watch
i think they did a good job, all things considered, in doing something they had obvious reluctance to do
i doubt that richemont would've let them, a german company responsible for making the actual fliegers for the luftwaffe, make a watch reminiscent of that today
