Well, it seems to me that Neofolk as a term is most closely tied to Douglas P's band, Death in June. Douglas P., after being disillusioned with the left-wing crisis-punk kind of scene took up a morbid interest in National Bolshevism, and is known to wear plenty of Nazi uniforms during performances, though they're generally not overtly SS like his logo is.
A collaborator of his, Boyd Rice, is also infamous for discussing "race realism" and being generally provocative along those terms. However, Boyd Rice also collaborated with David Tibet of Current 93, who, as far as I'm aware, has made no real stance regarding racial politics at all. It would be a strange stance for him to take as a gnostic who generally believes the material world is a lesser truth than the metaphysical realm anyway.
That is to say, that despite racialized perspectives, the importance of the music seems to have the capability of superseding "worldly" concerns.
