idk it sounds kind of naive to think someones work is above context and history for everyone. it's definitely a perception thing as I doubt everyone will agree but i totally get what you're saying.
i have a VERY hard time looking past a lot of my own yohji simply due to how comfortable I am in it. Not to say im uncomfortable in pieces i wear by other designers just that it sort of takes a greater 'net-effort'(?) compared.
but there are also days i just want to throw on layers of rick silk and huge pants - lying about doing nothing.

idkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk - i was talking to a friend about it the other day who's seemingly quite knowledgeable on yohji and your reminisced on something he said along the liens of 'they always come back to me' in regards to comfort. We lingered on the idea and whole heatedly agreed in the end.
