Yes, just make sure the "formality level" of the jacket and pants are the same.

For example, a formal s150 wool navy jacket doesn't work well with jeans, and you end up looking like a clown. A more informal jacket with patch pockets, maybe some pattern like glenchecks or windowpane, soft natural shoulders etc. in a more durable and rough material like cotton/flannel//tweed and even cashmere (even though it's the opposite of rough and durable...) can work brilliantly with jeans and an OCBD.
