Lisbon's suburbs, 2/10

Downtown and everything from Olivais to Algés is top /fa/. Tourism has helped revitalize some of the more downtrodden areas, and new buildings are pretty good looking overall. State-built houses form the 40s are also strangely cool looking when they gave architects pretty much free-reign in their designs.
Buildings from the 70s to the 90s are, however, horrible. They're either soviet-looking, or postmodern knockoffs, pioneered by Tomás Taveira.
The suburbs, for the most part, have that soviet, cheap looking feel to them. Large apartment complexes separated by sections of green overran by untrimmed weeds. Can't wait for the moment they all get torn down.
