estrogens/oestrogens. a group of substances - not a single compound. both men and women have them, even though they are more abundant in women.

>Oestrogen doesn't change the way your skin works.
It really does, though. Quite fundamentally.

Various estrogens affect skin elasticity (partially through increased collagen production), pigmentation (affects the melanocytes), skin thickness, the hair follicles, sebum production...

The sexes do age differently (mainly due to differences in collagen, hyaluronic acid), and tan differently to some extent (since estrogen affects the melanocytes - see melasma). Skin thickness is also a factor here.

Acne is also slightly more common in females.
There are also several other skin conditions whose epidemiology is very affected by gender.

But as far as I know at the moment, there's no need to treat the skin that much differently from a general skincare perspective.

It depends on the kind of skincare product. The spread of review scores depends on the product type, since it's easier to fuck up certain formulations than others. Moisturizers are "safer" than, say, cleansers. I just needed a relevant pic though, the primary and most important things are the sources provided.

Yep. Better than most things.

>Body Shop Vitamin C Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 contains Amazonian camu camu berry, which is known to have one of the highest contents of vitamin C in nature.

K. The ascorbic acid concentration in them is at 2-3%, and then much lower in the final product. Too low to be cost-effective. They have included an ascorbic acid salt as well, though, but its absorption is lower than ordinary standard ascorbic acid. There's better stuff, both when it comes to sunscreens as well as products with ascorbic acid/vitamin C. Aim for something around 20% concentration if you give a damn.
