I have a question

Everyday office wear in winter, I just wear a shirt + chinos or cords (I want to buy flannels for next season) and throw a sweater on top, either a crew neck or a quarter zip. I hate v-necks.

But what happens in summer?
I hate going with just a shirt on, it looks cheap to not put anything else on it. But a sportcoat would be too formal and weird.

Just ditch the shirts and wear polo shirts?
