Well, she's a Swede after all.
But yeah, should be noted that every fabric strap I've owned have needed a wash occasionally (really, they can accumulate vile smelling gunk inside them), and I don't really use anything else. I think I'll have to disagree with you on the last point though, in my opinion you can use something like one-pass strap in neutral colour and texture pretty much everywhere.
