Anon you are a friend of mine. I have obsessed over little details like that since I bought my first vintage tee at a thrift in 2013 or so (a late 90s Bauhaus "Gotham" tee printed on Giant). I remember thinking the Giant tag was the coolest I had ever seen, since the company was non-existent and the logo was old school just like the screen-printing.
The necklines are a subtle detail but they can be such a giveaway for a tee being an original, i wish more people were attentive enough to notice. My favorite blanks are early 90s Anvil/Tilted/Giant when they were getting really boxy and thick. The cotton doesn't get so much "soft" as it does solid and faded and thick after years of use. Way better than my 80s Screen Stars tees, which I can barely really wear
