Damn that sounds amazing. I'm going to be staying at a friend's in Tokyo this July for 3 weeks and I cannot speak a single word of Japanese, and will have to be out on my own most of the time since my friend still has university classes during that time. Shopping and the city will be really exciting but what you described sounds really nice too, thinking of heading to Kyoto / Osaka for a few days on my own but not sure if I can handle traveling on my own in a completely foreign country
