"Appreciate" has nothing to do with spending money, Anon; the two are separate. I say, 'to hell with the rest', because of the unfortunate influences that push watch Frens to buy watches for the reasons other than they actually love the watch above all others.

Further, I disagree with 'appreciate what others like'. While I'll always try to understand why someone likes something that I find measurably awful, sometimes it's impossible for me to appreciate something just because someone else does. Nothing will ever make me find modern Rolex max cases more aesthetically successful than their older smaller cases, for example, no matter how many people like them. I don't appreciate those watches; I dislike them.

Finally, watches are fun, and part of that fun is arguing about what makes a watch 'great' and comparing/contrasting different attempts. I won't however do the WUS thing where everyone loves everything...a little too saccharine for me.

What are you wearing today, Fren?

>workshop
I don't trust them.
>take...forever
Agreed.
>impressive
Agreed, from what I've seen of others who have taken the risk.
Don't know anything about Cartier, or Blancpain.

Ultimately, if I trust the watchmaker, I'd rather they do it. There's a direct line of communication of what I want worked on and what I want left-the-fuck-alone. Brands don't understand this.

Thank you for your inside-knowledge; this kind of wisdom is always appreciated on thread.

I will, dear Fren. What are you wearing tonight?

Honestly Anon...I like them all. The watch is so versatile that you can illuminate it almost any way you want and still have it pick up the vibe. Wonderful shots.

I sometimes worry about accidentally drooling on a watch that isn't waterproof....that could be disastrous. Other than that, it might wake you up if your wrist is in a weird position tight against the bracelet.

That's a fair point...I haven't taken new watch pics in a very long time. One day, when the light is good, I'll try to take some new ones.

What are you wearing today, sobrietyAnon?

I know. It's something all of the best watches have in common.

Glad you're doing well. Things here are fine too, nothing to complain about, but there is very little time left in the days now. No new watches...after getting the Grail, the desire to get watches simply disappeared. Sometimes I'm intrigued by a watch, but it never goes beyond that. I do still try on quite a number if I can...the other day I finally got to try on random watches like the Lunar Pilot, Octafinissimo, Breguet 20 hertz, etc., but there just isn't the draw anymore, truth be told. Nothing feels as special as the ones I already own and have history with. I know that's an unfair expectation, but that's the way it is...lol

How about you? Anything new?

Yours looks great. Have you had it serviced recently? Regarding your hypothesis about the accuracy related to the power reserve; it definitely will be, given the era of the watch. If you keep it wound in the first 24hours of power reserve, it should be okay and run relatively stable. If it's outside, it should run slow. If it runs slow before the 24 hours is up, you should have it serviced post haste, as there might be other issues at play.

>pic related is shit after 24hours power reserve. If it's dial up, it's cool, but god help you if it's crown up....

How has /wt/ been?
