>How do I make sure it’s genuine
By doing a lot of research and getting to know the brand and the watches they produced. Seikos for instance all have their reference number on the dial under the 6 o'clock marker and you can work from there.
>what should I usually ask the seller?
Just basic stuff, photos help a ton.
>Should I get a pic of the mechanism?
Not that important, it matters more whether it has been serviced recently or not.
>What should I expect from an accuracy stand point.
Not much to be honest. Mechanical watches, especially older ones, aren't that accurate to begin with, generally they can be brought down to around +/- a minute per day i would say, that i would consider acceptable. I haven't checked mine yet because i rarely wear them.
