The Constellation belonged to my grandfather and the Geneve Dynamic and yellow Seiko are my dad's, so all three of those just fell in my lap. The King Quartz and Grand Quartz I just bought from ebay, they're not too rare and I think they're excellent watches for a really cheap price because people turn their noses up at quartz.

Yeah the bracelet is way too much gold for me. It looks nice as an object in a photo but I can't imagine actually strapping it to your wrist like that, if that makes sense.

I think gold only works on really simple small dressy watches

White is dressier but it's not necessarily a super strict rule. Diver, dress watch, sporty chronograph is a safe combination that'll cover anything. You can wear a diver with almost anything, especially if you swap it between a metal bracelet, cloth straps, and maybe rubber straps depending on what you're wearing. I wouldn't wear most divers with really formal clothes though, that's what dress watches are for and you're not James Bond even if you wear your fucking submariner with your tux. Gold looks best on more tan/dark skin tones and it's sort of out of fashion, but I personally like it and I rock my gold watch all the time.

Why would you even think of selling your grandfather's watch, asshole. It's not worth nearly as much to anyone else as it should be to you. Get it fixed up and wear the shit out of that wrist fedora, mine is out of fashion too but that doesn't mean it looks bad at all.

I'll second what >>9766203 said, try not to let the watchmaker replace a bunch of parts unless it's really necessary and know that polishing a vintage watch is usually a horrible idea and refinishing a watch dial is almost always a really really horrible idea.
