I'm going for a man bun, however I made the mistake of getting a cut a long time ago, and now my top is ready for the man bun, but my sides are still on the catch up game. I don't want to buzz the sides, so I want to man bun the top and then use product on the sides so they stay back.

What should I use? I have pomade but it smells and I don't like the shine.

I really have no idea what to do with my hair, have absolutely always buzzed it and finally have let it grow out quite a bit. At first was thinking about going man bun but now it feels passe.

I can posts other angles if necessary.
