Source: I used to have long hair, pic related although I used to shampoo at least every other day, if you want hair like you posted just don't wash it much and don't grow it too long, that way the bottoms will have the chance to curl more if you have hair that'll do it. Mine was considerably wavier when it was a bit past my shoulders.
