I want to finally give my MPs a good clean this week. I previously would use *Renapur leather balsam* but that definitely darkens and I don't particularly want that. I was thinking of getting the following products

- Horsehair brush (actually, I already own this)
- Saddle soap
- Kaps Shoe Polish Applicator Brush
- Bickmore Bick 4 Leather Conditioner

So I guess I'll *clean* the boots with the saddle soap and shoe polish brush, then apply the bick 4. How does that sound? Or is it all just reddit memes and I shouldn't get all that shit?

Not sure if you've ordered this yet but here are my thoughts regarding ordering White's boots.

You really don't want this desu. It's really expensive and it's not really worth it; you don't even know if you've gotten the right size here

Not worth it - most think it looks better without.

Don't buy these unless you going bigger than 8" boots. They're just annoying because at 6" your jeans will bunch up and catch on the loop.

Necessary for horsehide, usually omitted for most other leathers (and again, isn't really necessary).

Get hooks too; only eyes is a pain.

Looks weird on the 55 last so get cuban.

you don't need this; you have wide feet but you haven't mentioned having crazy arches.

Are you 100% sure about this? It makes reselling the boots if you ordered the wrong size impossible.

Couple of other things to consider:
- Your build is essentially an MP boot, but on the 55 last; are you sure you don't actually want White's MP instead? (pic related). I find the 55-last boots to be a bit too Americana-LARPy looking and if all you want is some decent fitting boots for the office/shitposting you probably don't need the 55-last unless you really want that arch support.
You can also get combo lasts from White's if you ask for it (where the toe width and heel width are different); I have this and it helps the fit immensely.

Actually did the October challenge thing and it was really fun wearing my boots every day. Absolutely loving my MP boots.
