You can't make /fa/ 'great again' with only one thing. If you want to improve this board you must realize that's complex. What are the problems? What solutions are possible? Is there consensus? Some people don't want any improvement. Keep in mind that before you there have been many meta threads about the state of the board without any results.

In any case, you need motivated people.

>there doesn't really seem to be anyone with esoteric knowledge left, at least from a cursory glance.
Most users of /fa/ indeed lack knowledge. Don't sit behind your computer all day wasting your time. Read books. Go to musea. Ask authorities questions. /mu/ and /tg/ have sharethreads, so why not here? Share info. There's that guy with the japanese mags (http://pastebin.com/Q2iDYiAM)) and the guy in the /diy/ general with his books (http://www83.zippyshare.com/v/12iERp2m/file.html and http://www83.zippyshare.com/v/5yClsl5u/file.html).). Also, some other dude emailed a couple of people about YSL and his Mondrian dress (>>/fa/thread/S11497631#p11503388).).

As a community project I can dig this. Yes! Get some people together! Don't come with 'cores' like 'jewelwave', 'palewave' or 'insurgency-core'. It is 'novel' in the sense that it lacks substance. 'Jewelwave' is following a certain palette. 'Insurgency-core' is dressing up like a terrorist. 'Palewave' is choosing clothes based on a certain palette to archive 'chillness'.
If you want challenge and conversation, perhaps create a monthly challenge where people create outfits around a 'theme'. Let's take 'chillness' again. This idea can be given form in many ways, for example by wearing pajamas's, by using certain palettes in an outfit or by creating an outfit based on the sun and the clouds. Let people talk about their outfits. Why did they choose to represent 'chillness' in this way?
