regarding this hoodie, there's two approaches you can take to attaching the sleeve to the torso. one is to sew the cap to the armscye, then sewn up the side seam and the sleeve seam in a single pass. the other is to sew up the side seam and the sleeve seam, then set the sleeve cap into the armscye.

the former technique results in a wider angle of the sleeve to the torso which emphasizes movement and de-emphasizes fit. the latter technique results in a narrower angle, which emphasizes fit but can be more restrictive of movement.

i don't have a reigning champ hoodie in front of me, but as you yourself said, it's just classic american activewear and every single mass market hoodie i've seen utilizes the former technique because it's quicker to sew with a smaller chance of error and it's more efficient to draft and fit. the only exceptions have been some niche hoodies, like rick's, which set the sleeves and draft and fit them more in the manner of tailored garments.

it's a very shallow observation that screams, "i don't really understand how the craft works". you know, vionnet's bias cutting was nothing new, she just had a novel approach to its application. gres' release tucking was an old technique, and she was even using it in deference to ancient classicism, but her work was novel and modernist for the time. miyake... technically found a new construction technique, but in reality it was just a new permutation of fortuny's neoclassicism which itself was based on some of the oldest clothing in history.

it doesn't matter that the human body itself has a finite permutation of shape because we're creating shapes to impose upon it.

this one is so long is goes down below the slits in my lotus, hem is about fingertip length. seams go just past my shoulders. i think i saw mrsments 4 the old gimp and theyre basically the same, strapless fullzip just has the ribbing on the bottom
