you said a lot but nothing about beauty. second, you imply scary is bad. you forget easily the distinction western history produced for awhile between 'sublime' and 'beautiful' in which perceiving both was a transcendent experience, even though the 'sublime' was terrifying

i would also take to task your claim about 'praising dark over light.' darkness, especially black, is used in equal proportion to, if not moreso than light/white in art, especially high fashion.
