YO OP
Actual guy who used pomade for alot of years
Start off with light pomade
I live in Bosnia so I always bought really old school pomade because they were cheap and effective
Try Murray's or my favourite "Royal Crown" that badboy was used by Johnny Cash and The king!

My go to pomade now is "Lockhart's" unironically the best one I've got
Costs a bit more but pays off in the long run
Smells great (lavander and sandalwood I think) and applys like a dream
No hard Lumps or too much of a "greasy" feel.

Start off with a small clump and really rub it in between your hands like a Jew until it's really hot so it's easier to apply
And add it to your hair
If you want you can add pomade to the crown (top) and the sides of your head but I just use the pomade once and that's it
I then part it and try to make a pompadour
But due to Corona I haven't been able to go to my regular barber and we'll...
Since I'm Bosnia I can't really get a good haircut anyhow so I'm stuck here looking like Leon from re4...

Much luck to you friend

Does this more or less ok on me?

School starting soon and I'm contemplating on switching to shorter hair again to be more formal...
