one day Raf..... one day

Lads, im thinking of making my own RAF style jacket/parka.

How shit/flawed is my method and how likely am i to fuck it up?

Basically, this is what ive cooked up.
>buy plain piece of fabric
>Print artwork i want on the back of jacket (most probably a beksinski painting) using this method

>leave 1.5cm border around said image for sewing into using this method.

>Cut hole in back of a plain black Parka/jacket and sew into it using above method

I understand theres a lot more to the appeal of actual raf parkas than just the fancy image on the back, but i dont feel like shelling out 10k to buy one. I can see it coming out a lot worse than i expect it to but i guess its worth a try, if not just for practice.
