I never really got why everyone likes black/cement on jordan 3s, I think white/cement looks better. but I don't have a real frame of reference for sneakers -- don't watch basketball, didn't listen to rap when I was a kid, etc. So I didn't grow up thinking about sneakers,

like these, and definitely get those shoe trees. I might be wrong, but can you not treat the ann derbies like any other black shoe? you might not want to wax it because that would be a different look, but black shoe cream, some kind of conditioner, use a shoe horn, etc.

white sneakers and brown shoes are potentially a good idea, but it really depends which ones you pick out. do some research about the levels of quality of various brands, and be ready to spend some real money. white sneakers are easier -- there are tons of options there.
