So all those famous pilot watches? Well, those aren't really real pilot watches, because they don't meet the pilot watch standard! So they're just like non-ISO certified ""divers""!
But pic related of course is a certified, real pilots watch!

Yeah, I've seen that one (this one, right?) and I actually like it a lot, but I think it's sold out and it doesn't come on a bracelet, which I'd really prefer if possible. Sinn prices are apparently about to go up as well so I'm not sure if they'll still be the bargain pieces they currently are by the time I'm ready to buy.

Not sure what direction I'm gonna go though, I don't have a degree so I probably can't fly passengers for a major airline, but I'm not sure I'd want to do it anyway since it's by far the worst lifestyle in the industry, especially for the first few years. I might go do something really nuts like flying water bombers if I can but we'll see, I'm a few years away from looking for serious jobs beyond basic instructing or banner towing or whatever.

This. Also, maybe this pic also needs some text, to list brands of modern versions/hommages. E.g. the classic German fliegers should have Laco et al, but also San Martin for the budget option and the Heuer should get Sinn as an expensive, modern "true heritage" option and HKED as the budget hommage.

But for flying, you NEED a watch made for flying/pilots!
So you HAVE to get a Flieger, or at least a GMT, or something like that busy dialed slide ruler watches or maybe even an air king. But AFAIK there's no digital watch made for flying, so sorry, you can't do that!
Personally, I'm kinda partial to Sinn. They've got classic Fliegers and a reissue of the iconic Luftwaffe Chrono, but if you're up for something more unusual, their 857 UTC TESTAF LH Cargo is great! Fully TESTAF certified (so it's a real pilots watch!) and made to celebrate Lufthansas 777F planes! How cool is that!
