None of these tend to make the watch work better, it's all aesthetics

In brands with budget watches there might be a better spring (actually matters for isochronism and/or running time) for the not budget version. They may also take another common movement and change parts out with custom pieces for greater functionality/durability/efficiency (might just be marketing memes)

If this turns you off, don't buy an expensive watch or try to understand their socially acceptable autism
