I have awful long hair now (~10cm, 4"). Usually, I just get a regular haircut (picrel), but I don't want to.

My main issue with it is that it looks too "hard", too aggressive, kind of like getting a buzzcut.

I want something longer. Not so long the hair reaches down to touch the eyes, but long enough that the hair can move and isn't 100% stiff, like a buzzcut.

I have a longish face, pretty thin, glasses. I look kind of like Lennart Poettering, but with thinner glasses and a bonier face.

Do you have any advice for me?
