a lot of the more 'tailored' mens suiting sort of garments always had heaps of lang in them, even the 90s raf collections seemed to hold a lot of those tall, elegant but still relaxed silhouettes that hl more or less coined
(pic related, not cherry picking - heaps of shit like this if you just google 90s raf).

i definitely thought raf did, even being unfamiliar with his works there was (for me atleast) always kind of a narrative, taken from the dad, 90s --> teenage son, early 2000s --> the son facing, adult hood, choice and isolation (unlike the one his ancestry had faced) around the 2010s
and this narrative provided a philosophy in ways of social development, commitment, obligation then vs now.

i don't know how much of it exists now, maybe im just romantising but idk.
ughhh i keep running into the book i need to read it!
i don't think his quote is so much an abandonment in concept rather than a evolution (which coincides with the narrative im about to display!)
i think raf is raf and has been raf for a long time in concept even if it requires a bit of imagination
