>yeah i'm not sure how to succinctly write a passage on silhouette as it's something that comes with a lot of exposure to art in my opinion (same with colour palettes)
then just write that
it's a way better answer than suggesting a handful of color pairings

do you know how many people mistake desaturated colors for dark colors? A fucking lot.

Similar to you, I learned by seeing, but I'm not super involved with art so most of my exposure came from pictures of well dressed people on the internet

everything fits

>>7778674
tbh I'd scrap the whole fit
nothing I like to wear that looks good with the off-white of the jacket looks good with the blue

for starters maybe swap the blue jeans for black (but muh black and brown!) shut up
would go white for the shirt
off-white is a great color for easing browns into an otherwise achromatic palette
only concern is the patent leather finish
kind of jarring against the other coarse textures

idk man your color game is fucked. like telling you what to improve would be writing up a whole new fit for you
just stare at more inspo?

I wrote this ages ago and I don't like the idea of it being used as a set of rules, but I think it's elocuted clearly enough to be a good starting point for developing a color vocabulary that you can use to articulate what you like.

I often dispense color advice in the WAYWT and this sounds like a less informed poorly articulated version of something I would say.

Don't wear complementary colors m8
they're actually really ugly for the most part
if you do wear them try to evoke some contrast between them with disparity in value.

learn to make these decisions yourself friend
doesn't come from reading
use this as a way to start thinking about colors
if you see an outfit you like make an effort to articulate every aspect of the colors you see and what's paired with what

also stop using words like "green" "blue" and "red"
that's really only a fraction of a color's identity, the hue, and even then it's still extremely broad

instead think "desaturated high value green" or "hypersaturated mid-value orange"

get a cable knit in cream or light gray to contrast against the dark green
bonus points for interesting textures or nep

>So would a deeply saturated blue, deeper than French blue. Almost navy.
saturating a light blue OCBD won't turn it navy...
seriously you have no idea what you're talking about
knowing what complementary colors are != understanding color coordination remotely

also plenty of reds and browns look great with orange

depends on the qualities of the orange the red and the brown

anyway as far as patterns go, don't overthink it

just treat them like they're a solid pair of very dark green pants

things that look nice with v dark green: off-white, muted oranges, charcoal, light gray, etc

In general your colors are too saturated to look spacey
go for desaturated mid value colors instead of high saturation high value colors

Not that guy but I could probably pull it off. There are a lot of reds out there and a lot of blues.

People that use the word 'match' to talk about color coordination are clueless.

>wool pants are grey so i dont think more grey would help in that situation
That's because you're limiting the entire spectrum of visible light to less than 20 words like 'gray' 'blue' 'green' 'red' etc.
There's more to color than hue. Not all grays are the same. Dark gray vs light gray produces aesthetically pleasing contrast. Learn to like it.

This ain't color wheel territory, boi. People that think contrast ends at complementary colors(hue) are GQ-worshipping scum and their opinions are worthless. This is probably directed at most people who have given you color advice before.

>What color shirt would you reccomend under my jacket?
Light desaturated blue, very light textured gray - the texture is important. See: flecking, heather, marled
