Update on grandpa's old Poljot. Here's how the dial looks without the messed up crystal obscuring most of the damage. Meanwhile my gran-gran told me more about this watch. He wore it in the early 70's, when he was in some metalworking shop and that's the reason why it's kinda messed up. On the other hand the back of the gold-plated case and the steel caseback are almost spotless.

However it's not running quite right yet. The center wheel is rubbing against the balance wheel when the watch is dial up, but only at one side of the wheel, so it's out of level. There isn't much space in these 24mm Poljots (though not as bad as later 26mm Raketas), so even a little deformity will lead to some scraping. I'll try to either level it out, punch the center wheel a little bit higher on its pinion with a staking set, or replace it altogether. Last case scenario I'll punch a tiny crater into the mainplate, so the balance cock would slope a tiny bit downwards, lessening the balance endshake.

Also the crown is just a temporary one I screwed on to be able to examine the movement, and I'll pick up a new crystal next week.
