Tried on some Doc Marten 1460s today and I'm not sure whether to go for UK size 7 or 8. I measured my feet in my usual socks, left foot is a 7 1/2, right foot is an 8.

So size up or size down?

About to order some black dr martens 1460s online but I don't know what style of leather I should get them in. The choices are nappa, smooth, and greasy. Personally I think smooth (pictured) looks the best but I also heard these are the least durable. Can anyone with experience tell me the difference between these leathers. Specifically how smooth ages.

Is it still ok to wear doc 1460's? Need a durable cheap good looking pair of boots for the winter and they seem like a good option, only problem is they're overplayed by tumblr grills over here. Never actually seen a guy wear them though.
