First time posting here. I'm looking to buy a watch for my best friend's birthday and I have no idea about these.

I have a budget of 200-250€, maybe going up to 300€ if it's a big upgrade. I'm in a special position to get 20-30% off the sales price of Citizen and some weird brands but I hear Citizen is the best value. I'm a poorfag and can't get anything more expensive, sorry.

Pecrel is the Citizen Eco-Drive BM8550-81E. I like the watch face on this one. It's priced at 250€ without the discount and would fit into my budget. Any cookie cutter Citizens in this price range that I should be looking for? They all seem to be the same on paper except with a different watch face.

At 300€ the watches seem to start getting sapphire glass and titanium materials. Are they essential for watches?
