>it's hyped on Tiktok.
It's hyped everywhere. The thing about Layton is that it's one of those fragrances that smell really good and so people like it. It is far and above the best selling fragrance from Parfums de Marly.

I've got two versions of Layton, the superior higher concentration and the reformulated one without the menthol which sucks. They both smell like a yankee candle and if I could go back I probably wouldn't buy them again.

What is hyped on tiktok? My understanding of fragcom’s most hyped fragrances is Aventus, DHI, Layton, Sauvage

>Up-close or on a strip that juice smelled absolutely fucking rancid. But when I actually wore it on my shirt and walked around the wafts were amazing.
Layton was this for me. The initial close-up scent is pretty damn harsh, but the scent in air becomes lovely in a matter of minutes.

Is Layton worth a blind buy? You mentioned apple and vanilla as notes, is Layton overall a fresh and sweet fragrance?

Also, adding to this, TRY BEFORE YOU BUY. That always applies, but especially with Layton there’s a menthol-ish note that depending on person is either a dealbreaker or nothingburger. For me, it goes away in a minute, so no problem, but some people experience it longer due to their nose/skin chemistry and dislike it. Potential Layton buyers should also probably know that it doesn’t shine if you directly sniff your skin after spraying it, it’s pretty harsh up close initially and takes some time to settle down. However, sillage is great almost instantly.

Layton owner seconding here, it’s strong as fuck, even one spray carries you far. 125ml is a overkill, you’d get mileage for years of daily use with that and you’re probably not gonna daily it realistically.

That being said, it’s an excellent fragrance in its own genre and if you like apple and vanilla, it’s an easy recommendation.

Just buy the 75ml directly from the PdM website and pay with Klarna or afterpay. It's only $260, which honestly isn't a far cry from what you will find it for at reputable discounters. If you do the bi-weekly payment plan it comes out to about 36 dollars a week. over the course of two months. It's pretty doable.

And as someone who owns Layton, you really don't need the full sized bottle. It's not going to be something you wear every day. It smells great but it's way too loud to wear to work and you'll probably be reaching for something else in the summer time because it is very sweet. It's a bit like Eros or 1 Million. It doesn't smell anything like either of them, but it's definitely a high end entry into that genre of fragrances. It's great for going out and grabbing attention, it's one of my most complimented fragrances, but it's not versatile enough to be an all day every day scent.

Good call. Layton is one of the most counterfeited fragrances out there. I've had more people ask if I thought their new bottle of Layton was fake than any other fragrance combined.

Yes, the OG. Recently searching on Fragrantica and it's in the same group like One Million, woody spicy with that cinnamon backbone. Never made that connection. Thanks for Layton will try it out.

I've become so disillusioned with fragrances. Or rather the hype surrounding many of them. Here's a list of fragrances I've sampled over the last 3-4 weeks.

>Xerjoff
Mefisto
Mefisto Gentiluomo
40 Knots
Torino21
Naxos

>PdM
Haltane
Percival
Sedley
Greenley
Layton
Kalan

>Louis Vuitton
Imagination
Afternoon Swim
Orage

>Dior
Bois d'Argent

All except 2 were disappointing, ranging from meh to terrible. The only ones I would actually enjoy wearing regularly are Orage and Bois d'Argent. Arguably the gentlest, most delicate of the bunch. They smell refined. Perhaps that's just my personal taste coming through. They are lovely. But all the others smell cheap, as weird as it sounds. Harsh, sharp edges, offensively synthetic, overly sweet, ordinary, even unpleasant scents for extraordinary prices. Any combination of those. I know my opinion goes way against the majority, but I guess those frags just aren't for me.
