for de-soldering, I would highly recommend using a solder sucker/pump like a goot GS-108 or TP-100 which will generally work much faster and stress the pads less from my experience especially for someone who never used solder wick b4.
also might want to watch these first before u start if u haven't soldered b4:

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBXXuFXCtmtqlamIEfu3lSTzM5t1k2cx_

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0wI-5YZQm4

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpgMn88Qfjs

follow the steps and complete the primary check/repair, then you should go for a secondary diagnoses, which has 3 golden roles:

1. during this stage u will have to power up the board, the best way to power it is an isolation transformer, so the board is kept floating (galvanically isolated) this will reduce the risk of electrocution, also install a fast acting low current breaker or an incandescent lightbulb/heater or a fuse inline for added safety against short circuits accidental and otherwise, i personally use a 200w ceramic heater it if it glows i know there is a short and due to the PTC nature of the heater it limits the current enough to not cause catastrophic failure...
u could work on it on that state, but still i wouldn't recommend that for a beginner, so wear gloves and boots while working, and if u don't have access to an isolation transformer u have to use a GFCI/RDC outlet or breaker in line with circuit u are powering:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olq9wdeNS4c

2.make sure yk where ur hands are!! keep ur hands off the board and the board always powered down at all times except during the test!!!

3. thou shalt check voltages, start from the primary side, since the voltages there are known for the most part, if they are in the ball park (+10v or -10v) its ok, any thing higher u should investigate the primary components

Update:

A lawyer from the legal clinic called me back, they said that they have to file an application and serve me a notice where I either 'pay up or get evicted', and that I don't have to do anything before seeing a rental judge, which would take 1 yr+

So they might try to use the notice to bully me into paying or paying a discount but that I can tell them to go fuck themselves and the lawyer will represent me in court if it escalates to court.

Still haven't heard anything from the building manager so I'm hoping they'll fuck right off.

The contractor I can tell is biased towards the building manager.

Any way to protect myself?

I called my city’s bylaw and got connected with a property standards officer.

He told me no contractor could look at that and make the decision that it was from a paint job.

He basically told me to refuse the debt and tell them to take me to small claims court if they want their money.

>>1880088
Yeah absolutely the contractor and the manager are buddies. The contractor lied and is basically saying whatever the manager wants to hear.

So they’re basically coming to paint over the stuff. They’re trying to push the narrative that it’s because I did a botched paint job. They might try to make me pay for it but I’ll just tell them to fight me in court.

For the anons who said there might be mold;; I know painting over the mold doesn’t kill it but if I’m leaving in 3-4 months anyway, will if atleast help out?

Ok so it looks like their might be quite a few steps to this process so my next question is; at what point will the effectiveness of the blade be compromised going through all these steps? I mean yea i think the red color looks badass and the copper plated blades look nice too. I always like adding a touch of personalization to my stuff but at the same time I still want it to be functional. As another poster put it I don’t want to just carry around a fancy piece of hipster art.

I need make one for a final project in my 3rd worldist university.
The centrifugal must be a scale model and it must work that a functional centrifugal of laboratory, I guess the RPM that 2000rpm. In my house I have a motor of washing machine, the rpm of my motor is ±1100 rpm.

No, i decided to learn C programming because assembly doesnt look so easy, first of all i have to learn how to read datasheets that i could use properly uC. Lets say, i would like use timers instead delay function..... and there are a lot of stuff in datasheet, so only tutorials can help me to choose register that would do the job, but in other case previuos register may be not good? Thats why i am against assembly, because in my opinion assembly is way to hard to learn than C when i dont have programming experience :/

Yeah, it did end up having that. Thanks for pointing that out!

Anyway, socket is installed and working fine. I listened to you guys and ditched the splice and used the kind you crimp shut.

>bending the tubing
well, my mum kind of recommended skeletons of actual lamps (don't really know how they are called right now) so i'll look how far I come with that one, if the lamp thing can't hold the cogs, I will probably have to bend those tubes...

>But i don't want to buy one
unfortunately, they only did it as an art project for public. If they sold it, I would totally think of buying one. But since I live in Germany I'd also be afraid that the chandelier gets broken while shipping...

>>775539
>>775549
thanks, you kind anons! :) I appreciate your help/defending!

also, bumping a bit but I already have kind of an idea how I do this, if I find enough cogs ^^
Maybe I'll also post results if I won't forget it!

>> No.775491 [View]

>>775489
That would make very much sense! But in the article, they only told about how gorgeous this idea is and stuff, unfortunately... :(
Also, they said all of the cogs are real, and the outlandish are designed to reflect the town's history.

Thanks! The boyfriend of my mum just came home and said it would be difficult, but we could do it if we have patience and the neccessary material :D

I'll buy a lampshade frame so that the light will come through too and make these beautiful patterns on the wall :)

I still have the question...
How on earth can you bend the cogs so that they still look round and not like you tested a gold coin on its validity? anyone has an idea? :>

I am grateful for every answer you guys make!!! ^_^
