You are over thinking this. I produced a chromakey'd video project using an HTC EVO to record the video, natural sun light (filtered through a window) and a colored wall ay my university. If the back ground color is different than the talent, you can increase the tolerance threshold to compensate for shadows/imperfections.

A zipper will be useless I'd you don't have hands to manipulate it with. I'd just cut slits so you can pull your hands in or out as needed.

Make ifrom foam rubber and just lichen the pipecleaners through.

Op, nine of us are experts. It is worth the money, every time, to hire an independant building inspector. They will from thou everything that is wrong.

Additionally, if I wanted to make a press for producing compressed earth tiles (70% sand, 30% clay), does anyone here have an idea him much force would be required? I'm guessing 300+ psi, but its just a ballpark.

Does /diy/ have any experience with timbrel vaults? I'm thinking about trying to build on using 8mm thick ceramic tile. It the test goes well, I want to make a roof for my future chicken house.

I just don't know if 8mm tile is too thin (12 mm seems standard).

You can learn to do anything on Youtube. How to rebuild a truck engine, how to make hand-sewn shoes (that will sell for $100-$3,000 depending on materials and how much you suck at it), how to garden, how to cook, how to repair TVs. Anything. 4Chan will just teach you how to be antisocial and dwell in a basement.

Call your local ag extension office. They'll know your area better than we will, and your tax dollars pay for it already.

Guerrilla garden anything you cannot pack up into planter boxes in public places, where you know that sprinklers will water them.

I've been frying okra and zucchini for weeks now. I doubt I'll ever get tired of it :)

I'd love to see how your planters turned out.

Can you get someone to plant-sit for you?

I also have a potted Black Krim tomato in an old bucket. The dirt is from my first batch of rapid (under 30 days, high temp) compost. Neighborhood kids knocked the plant down (clean break at the dirt line) twice, but it's battled back. I'm just interested to see how well it does in pure compost (made from old spinach, swiss chard, and shredded cardboard)

Far left has some tomatoes, bottom left is another bell pepper and some Basil (I suspect thai) that volunteered from last year. The single line is where my Ha'ogens (Israeli cantaloupe) are growing. To their right are my Golden Midget watermelons, and in the far right corner are spaghetti squash.

Here in south Texas the soil is plenty warm (even overly warm at times) so the benefits of raised beds are diminished. This garden is at an apartment complex as well, so I didn't want to invest in any semi-permanent or expensive modifications. The soil is very alkaline and was pretty depleted, but I've been amending it. Most people get overly worked up over Ph, plants are pretty tough little things.

The potted plants are additional ground cherries. I wanted to see how well they did in small pots. Here's a shot of my in-ground plant.

This is the #1 trellis, notice how it is collapsing and the netting is totally disintegrating. I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to address this problem yet.

It's a similar variety, the Crystal Apple. They are a little less prolific than the Marketmoore 76' that I'm also growing, but that could be due to the shitty story-bought trellis netting which is decaying and collapsing under the weight of the plants (and making things very cramped, so bees are less likely to visit). The Crystal Apples are harder to spot, because they are the same color as the plant itself. Tastes the same to me.

I used burlap to create shade covers last year. It helped some, but 115+ temperatures and the-worst-drought-on-record pretty much killed any chance of a harvest.

It's actually an Italian Trombone Zucchini. Neat plant, it grows like crazy, produces 2-4' long zucchinis and if you leave them on the vine they will mature into a butternut variety.

I planted it this year in hopes that it may have a bit of resistance to vine borers, but it appears that they do not. I'll continue spraying/injecting spinosad.

I also am growing ground cherries this year, and have yet to decide how I feel about the fruits. I think I like them, but the flavor is pretty strange (a cross between pineapple and tomato).

Not seen in the photo is my cantaloupe (Ha'ogen), watermelon (golden midget), and spaghetti squash. Off to the side I have some potatoes that I let the neighborhood kids plant and a mixture of wild and domestic blackberries.

Call a keymaker and ask if they can grind you a kwikset 5 pin set at 7-7-7-7-7. Tell them it's the master key for your home lock set.
