They rent them at Home Depot but I haven’t figured out where to actually buy one new. A couple on the used market but they’re old and beat up.

On my scooter, there’s engine oil and then oil for the rear hub/gear. First time I did an oil change, I learned about the 100ml that go in the hub and it was kind of a pain in the ass. Ended up getting me a big turkey baster syringe and some flexible tubing.

Engine oil was more reasonable but tiny fill hole. Oil filter is a little screen on the drain plug.

I mean lots of people with the brushed ones are saying around a year and the gun has half the balls it used to have and the Snappy guys are paying $150 every 12mos to get their $800 impact rebuilt. But Milwaukee has a 5yr warranty and I haven’t seen similar complaints about those ones.

Also that’s a $250 impact from HF, I would hope to get a couple years from it. The $60 Bauer is a different story.

I keep hearing about the brushed impacts like the Earthquake and Snappy gun losing their balls after a couple of years because the connections in the motors start breaking down. I wonder if the brushless ones last longer, I haven’t heard of that issue with the Milwaukees even though like everybody owns them.

Whatever the deductible is on your homeowner’s insurance. Has to be like $10k+ worth of stuff and I’m not even in a trade.

Maybe. At least I have one. Also if you have ever been to any of the parks, especially outside of Magic Kingdom, it’s tons of 20-something couples. I sort of hate Disney, but some of the stuff at the parks can be entertaining.

That’s a big fucking tree. They take that stuff down in sections with dude climbing way up there and have lines guiding the tree parts away from anything important. If you can strap on a harness and get up there with a chainsaw (and a buddy on standby to call the ambulance), that wouldn’t be so bad. But if you’re about to hack at the stump with an axe and try to fell entire trees, there are a lot of things that can go wrong.

But I don’t know what I’m talking about. Only thing is I got a buddy who does big trees like that and climbs into the sky with his helmet on, and that’s a world away from some Mexican with a pole saw dropping some limbs and fucking uo your fence.

I mean when you only need a few dozen bricks to build a closet, it’s not that large of an expense.

Also they’re obviously renting because junkies in a $500/mo house typically don’t have the credit to get a home loan, nor the savings to put a down payment on the house or fix the water heater.

Job I was looking at is $27.50/hr, but they want you to have a Class A and I think that turns a lot of people away. They are asking about experience rather than schooling.

Uber or sell drugs, wtf do you want us to tell you? Or buy some jumper cables and tire plugs and put ads out for cheap roadside tire repair.

What skills do you have? Do you have an capital to get started? I assume both are no because you made this post.

They’re cheap. The Professional one is decent. Also there’s a whole lot of retards who thing they’re going to get 1000 ft-lbs from a $40 impact using the shittiest 1/4” low flow fittings and hose all around.

If that’s all you need, it’s not a bad deal. But I think that one is brushed with a couple smaller batteries and it’s not a hammer drill so hopefully you never need it for masonry. Other than that, solid tools, especially for that money.

The Octane drill+driver kit is expensive, but the Black Friday deal was really good. The Gen5X brushless hammer drill and impact driver with 2x 4.0Ah batteries, plus a free tool (got the Octane sawzall). I wish I knew if that deal was going to be around again because I would tell you to wait for that.

Ridgid gives you the lifetime warranty on batteries that come in the kits, but it’s only 3yrs on batteries purchased by themselves. So if you get that $120 set and later decide you want to add a saw or impact wrench or other high power/drain tool, you will likely want larger batteries. And you can pick up a 2pk of 4.0s for $99 a lot of the time, but you’re only going to get 3yrs on them. If you go for a sale on one of the more expensive sets, you will get a hammer drill instead of the basic one, plus they will be brushless, and you will probably get bigger batteries with the LSA on them. The $379 set gives you two better batteries plus pick two free tools, or you could get the $120 set plus the $180 battery-charger-free tool deal and would end up with 3 tools, 2 chargers, and 4 batteries all covered by the LSA for $300.

End rant.

I pretty much use my 18v 1/4” driver as a 3/8” impact wrench because of the power. Even if you turn the speed down, it still has that fairly heavy hammer and spring. So you can slow it down but each individual impact is fairly hard for 1/4” duty. The 12v has taken over typical 1/4” tasks.

If you’re a poorfag who isn’t already invested in Milwaukee, Makita, or DeWalt batteries, it’s the best bang for your buck. They aren’t nearly as good, but you can get this PC for $80 while the M18 with a battery and charger is going to be at least $300-$400.

I know what you mean, it’s one of the few items that is worth buying from that place. But if you go look at those Northstars or IRs, you can see so easily that the $170 HF models are made to last a couple years while the $499 models are made to last a couple decades, then you buy a new pump and they last a couple more decades.

What you mean $40?

The 3gal was $60 with hose and fittings and a blow gun and air chuck, all that I wanted it for. A 6gal with good cfm was $99, but then I would need to spend another ~$40 on the other shit, and I didn’t want to spend $150 at the moment if I was going to get a bigger one in the future. At least now I have a better line and good tire inflator so I can get away with just the cost of the tank.

There’s a couple 120V Northstars and IRs for <$500. Pic related is tempting, it’s only 8gal but it has a good motor (4CFM @ 90psi) and would fit real nice in the garage, has a 4yr warranty too. Also the NT manager gave me a coupon for $50 off $250. I was going to grab one of those blue 21gal compressors from HF based on just the numbers, but then I saw the build quality of these NorthStars and the IRs and it’s night and day for the extra $100-$200.
