Well shit. Apart from the LM339 and the Siemens microcontroller I have never seen chips with part numbers like that, and those IBM cans look nasty proprietary as well. Best option might be bypassing all its internal logic and rolling your own code into a SBC that can interpret 232, scan the keys and drive the hardware directly (which is doable, but a clusterfuck). I have no idea how you'd use the BRQ, PDR etc pins without a service manual or some other reference. not even the user manual makes reference to it..

Those chip types though, odd.

mad. I already see a board full of driver transistors, trace tracks down to the header and see where they go. same with the keyboard.

Come on man, you gotta want it! drill that shit out and get on with it. There will be posts/holes the rivets affix into, you can thread those holes later and screw it back together.

>> No.504532 [View]

Follow the GPIO's back to the nearest chip, acquire datasheet, proceed from there. It could also pay off to track back from the print head as well. Skip its driver section to the chip that actually controls it. You might be able to fire data directly into it at that point.

Hell, get a datasheet for all non-jellybean chips on the board and see if you can find something to poke at.

This. Or put your HDD in another computer and virus scan the fuck out of it, then copy wanted data across to the second machines HDD. Virus scan the fuck out of the recovered data again, reinstall HDD to original machine, rebuild OS, restore backup, virus scan the fuck out of new build for good measure, receive new pr0n/lolcats/virii.

Will a credit card/cigarette/business card fit in one?
Got electronic chops? Slimline amp/speakers? (speakers in spool holes, people love gimmics)

Oh. So you're talking SMD technique then? Even though OP is yet to buy his first iron? Very helpful advice. Why not crash course him on FPGA's while your at it..

Jesus christ, so many people ITT who don't know how to solder.

> insert component into through holes.
> flow fresh solder onto tip.
> heat pad and leg with tip.
> flow solder on once pad/leg junction heated.

Now go find a video that demonstrates a need to pre-flux a through hole board, or a wire splice, or stop feeding OP misinformation.

I'd soak it in thinned down clear varnish (thinned to allow the varnish to penetrate the structure), let dry, repeat until a good amount has absorbed in and layered up, then polish with a very fine cut automotive polish and a microfiber cloth.

> get cans.
> cut top and bottom off.
> cut a vertical line down the resulting cylinder, which should leave you with a curled over rectangle of aluminium.
> flatted section out some, not perfectly flat, just enough so the cut out section is bigger in diameter than a normal can.
> insert this into the can you wish to reinforce.
> run a line of tape down the inserted section along the cut line to secure it.
> repeat until desired thickness/strength achieved.
> tape around top rim to secure everything together.

That was me correcting myself, i typed flay instead of flat. but yes, depending on how paranoid your partner is a bend over with pliers should do, if not, hammer and silicone for great safety and avoidance of sex deprivation.

you gunna plant stuff in them eh?

I guess you could make a bunch of 5-10mm cuts from the lip down every inch or so, then fold the resulting tabs over inward to make a nice rounded edge. If you're using them as planters this should be about all you need, but if your girlchick is going to be playing in them, i would hammer them flay and silicone the shit out of the inner rim to cover the edges.

I'm going to ignore 'a solder' and skip straight to wtf is with all the morons on /diy/ who seem to think you need a seperate flux for solder? (SMD work aside) I have never seen anyone at my work/hack places use it for general soldering, none of my friends use it, I have never needed it on any of my tintoys like >>502563 or my own electronic projects (hell, i dont even own flux). all you need is a 60/40 rosin core roll of solder, period. thats the whole point of rosin core solder. it saves you needing to fuck around with a goopy mess on your board.

Me'thinks this guy is a long way away from SMD work yet.

I solder "large thermal masses" (brass stock and tin harvested from aerosol cans) all day every day with nothing but rosin solder and a weller. Pic related, a leg for desk bipeds I make and sell. That hip is made of two layers of tin with a brass rod embedded in solder for the pivot. Unless you mean crap like copper pipes and plumbing generally, where flux is far more commonly used. You should be cleaning the copper side of your PCB with acetone or methylated spirits before you start anyway, this will remove the grease i'm guessing you think you need flux for.

>>502511
List looks good OP, I'd also suggest some side cutters and some wire strippers.

I had this going on, turns out the wick only had about 2 cm left internally, it simply wasn't long enough to draw up the fuel.

Before you go skipping merrily off to download and use it, remember when you start to design you need to design around common stock metal/timber/whatever material you're using sizes. When I first started on it I didn't bother measuring up pieces to this degree, I was only concerned with the overall dimensions of the design, kind of eyeballing the stock dimensions as I went. This made trying to build from the plan almost impossible, had to redraw the whole damn thing with standardised parts. shit sucked

No, you'd need to dazzle the camera in the same way we discuss above, fuckhueg light source aimed right down its barrel, not illuminate your plate even better for the camera (ANPR uses IR as a light source here in ausfailia)

>>501669
Pretty sure that was in the context of speed cameras, which use visible light as their light source (This is the one where they were doing shit like spraying hairspray on to the number plate cover, shit like that yeah?
