drink a can of soda, and use the aluminum from that. just cut a piece of it and put it in your money pocket. should work.

hey does anyone here want to buy my Original trucks? they use a spring instead of a bushing. they are quite used, but function just fine. hell, i'd sell my deck, bearings, and wheels if you give a reasonable offer. everything works fine, im just looking for something smaller for better carry.

also here is a pic of my board, with different trucks.
somewhat custom made, but not by me. its a prototype board from subsonicskateboards.com with carbon fiber on the bottom and fiberglass on top.

i have an interest in drones as well, but i want to build one, not take them down. is it legal for average citizen joe to fly a drone from a laptop for very long distances and very high altitudes with a camera on board? (by very high i mean like 2 miles or less)

I added this to the topic of #diy on Rizon. Mods, you really should sticky this or something. Also, guys, stop by the #diy irc channel, we are too quiet.

well which would you choose:
50 dollar harbor freight router
-or-
70 dollar dremel brand rotary tool

>> No.214985 [View]

>>214834

you have a good point. I *might* just get a router.
its a bit more money to deal with though... would a harbor freight one do, or would i need a good brand like bosch etc.?

hey there /diy/, I have decided to build a CNC machine using an arduino and a dremel, but I don't exactly know where to start, but I have this feeling that you guys have done this before. Have any tips for me? I really would like to stay below a 200 dollar budget, excluding the dremel. 3 axis of course.

also, on an unrelated note, come to #diy on rizon. the channel is practically dead because nobody says anything, and as the owner, this makes me sad.

i longboard myself, and personally i think its a bad idea. some flex is good to have in longboards though. test out how much flex it has by propping it up on ~3" high blocks where you want the trucks to go, and see the middle of the board hits the ground if you stand right in the middle. if it does, its not worth it, but if it doesnt, go ahead and make it a longboard. i recommend original trucks, though they are pricey. just buying a longboard deck is always going to be a better option though. i recommend subsonic skateboards for that, but again, pricey.

hey /diy/, been a while.
i am going to be making a router/server/access point using:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jetway-NC9C-550-LF-Intel-Atom-N550-Dual-LAN-Mini-ITX-MB-/110602448070#vi-con
tent
plus the other necessary parts. i know how to do that, but i would also like to make an Uninterruptable Power Supply for it. the thing is, all the UPSes for sale are for like 300-1500w+ systems and made to last for ~15 minutes. i get like 1 second power surges though, so how do i make a UPS that can power my sub 100w system for about 15 seconds? I have no idea where to start.
small size is kinda important, but i dont think that will be an issue with my requirements. thanks in advance for any help.

also, read the sticky, go to #diy on rizon. its dead most of the day

Hello /diy/, have any projects you want to do in the near future?
I want to know!
also, join our channel, #diy on irc.rizon.net!

for me, i plan on selling my computer next week, buying computer parts 2 weeks later, building another computer case for it, making a desk at the end of the year, and building a UAV drone early next year. Thats a lot to do eh?
