well translating tech term is a pain.
This shit anyway, either spary or non spray.
It's Naphthenic (cycloparaffinic) spirit.

If you want to build something tubescreamer related better off a Fulltone FD-2

Blacksmith hammers are just regular hammers, but "crowned" that means:
you get a hammer and grind-file sharp corners to rounded corners. Sharp corners dent your piece badly and it's way more difficult to flat the shit out.
Obviously hammers vary in size, weight and shapes.
pic: notice the rounded edges

And after having MIDI information you can play the note on any VST synth on your PC. You are not bond to the shitty general midi player in multimedia player

RBG information
just do a math formula that maps RGB info captured from a webcam with pitch (a midi note, maybe with pitchbend for microtonal shit). You can do this without Arduino.
Arduino can be used as a simplified hardware interface for "physical computing", meant for getting info from basic electronic circuits (most times analog circuits) and sending them to a computer for processing (a button, a potentiometer, a touch sensor, a photocell, temperature sensor...). And viceversa, from the computer to the circuit (maybe just a led array).
Obviously Arduino can do computation itself, nothing comparable to what a PC can do but interesting stuff can be done considered that it can be programmed with an high level language unlike most microcontrollers..

I just looks good 'ol airbrushing to me. Airbrush waterbourne acrilic colors adhere to polyurethane. The most hassle would be from do the clear coating, to protect the airbrush work.
Anyway airbrushing is quite a complicate and expensive art (even thou there is chink knockoff shit around you can get for dimes). It's not that is is hard if you have some drawing-painting skills, but you got to really know how an airbrush works because it requires constant attention-cleaning-tuning-repair.
That said, if you feel like trying go for a 0.3mm nozzle.
>And don't even think to buy a compressor without an air tank

it looks like a pre emboss work to me.
Gilding is not very workable beside burnishing (when possible)

Mixtion is also called Gold Size
I used this recently to re-gild (with fake gold) some mirror frames
wwwDOTlefranc-bourgeoisDOTcom/beaux-arts/produits-dorure-mixtion.html

Anyway use use transer gold, never used but must work well on paper

on paper however the "a missione" technique is recomended.
Be aware that if you are going to use real gold the leafs are so goddamn thin that if you touch it you will destroy it. You must work with a gilder knife, gilder tip and gilder cushion.

WAIT!!! the fuck I didn't thought about it...
On paper you can use TRANSFER GOLD LEAF
gogle it

Basically there are 2 main ways: "a Guazzo" o "a Missione"
A Missione (mixtion gilding) is the easiest: it's just a specific glue (water based or oil based - oil based recomended) but you on't be able to burnish the shit.
Guazzo is the most traditional and complicated way (animal glue, gesso and Armenian Bole) but cam be burnished with Agate burnishers and delivers far better results

several sites in italian explain the techinque quite in a detailed way
use google translater or ask me

L Pad and T Pad configurations are resistive.
The way you say is basically a L Pad.

Yep, for that kind of output you should build a switched PSU (or modify a PC-PSU).
It's nothing simple anyway, and quite dangerous to experiment.

>Overdrive at the preamp level instead.
You will have only preamp distortion. Power stage distorts too, and some tube amps have the most of their shine in the power section. Therefore, Power Attenuators.
>WARNING: PA will wear your tubes as if you were playing full crank without it. Might sonud obvious, but to many it's not

>both my amps (combo bass) have small holes in them (not self made)

No well that is the Bass Reflex configuration.
For guitar cabinets, bass reflex porting is not used. There are simply 2 types:
>closed back, that means airtight
>open back, that means well the cabinet is open in the back

usually hi-power ones are closed back (the air trapped inside the cabinet froms an air "spring" that "sustains" the speakers, and can also be tuned to have some bass enhancing simply calculating the internal volume).
Low power ones are usually open back (more tridimensional sound, and better sound at lower volume since the cone is free to move - not dampened by the "air spring").

Simply rig up a resistive PA. They work good, and can be cheap as fuck if you use chink resistors (check Royal Ohm, they are 10W and cheap as sin (you can parallel several to achieve the wanter power absobtion doing the right calculation on the Rtot)) .
If you leave like 2W going thru the amp (is well audible) you can wire a further volume control with wirewound potentiometer wired as voltage divider (like a 50ohm 2W wirewound).

I use a T-pad type

Also check NANO TUBES
These are nasty little fuckers since they were meant for military applications and they are built to resist insane shocks (several Gs of accelleration, since they were used on MIG jetfighters).
I was thinking about building a car stereo tube amp with these.
I'll never do that but hey it'a an idea.

Analog you can only do tape delays, or get BBD (bucket brigade delay) chips but usually they don't store much information (512 -1024 samples) and must be used with a compander section to reduce noise. The NOS ones are quite expensive and the chink clones are not very well regarded. To have an effect like the EH Memory Man you must line up several of those.

Digitally there are inexpensive and easy to use chips like the PT2399.

Blacksmith thread
I'm not skilled just lurked, plus got to quit cause not enough space to do the shit right.
Anyway post in this:
DIY coal forge projects
DIY gas forge projects
and anything related comes in your mind

pic: a gas forge. Can be as simple as this, even more simple. Burner can be any cheap propane torch. Enough temperature to forge and quench, not enough for welding
