Use paper and/or cardboard; they are very 'brown'.

Do you add "Liquid fertilizer/accelerator" (urine) to your pile? Does it make any significant difference?

Can you brace it with additional straws? Make a triangular base and allow the fan head to rotate ~270* to follow wind but avoid collisions with the tower.

Pull weeds, ask a local grocer for spoiled stuff, ask the neighbor(s) for their lawn clippings, go to coffee shops and ask for old grounds... Lots of places.

Thanks, I knew it was under 210*F so I figured I was safe.

I doubt it will get that hot. Thermoplastics need higher temps that compost can produce... I think ;)

As much as I'd love to have chickens, my 300sq/ft garden is in an urban zone at an apartment complex. Chickens are not an option at this time (which is a real shame, I miss raising them)

Yes I do. This is my first attempt at cooking a batch. I figured I'd do something with all my bolted winter-greens rather than toss them out or feed them to the deer.

DIY dirt anyone?

1 bucket of shredded paper, 1 bucket shredded cardboard, 2 buckets of spinach (bolted, from my garden), 1/4 bucket of miscellaneous weeds/leaves.

I should know in a day or 2 in my ratio was correct...

http://www.landsoftexas.com/land-for-sale/11-acres-in-Wilson-County-Texas/id/553751

11 acres, $42k, no flood/earthquake dangers. Tornadoes are rare. Very mild winters, hot summers. Access to several aquifers, so water from wells is easy.

Internet is provided by microwave service, not super fast, but comparable to mid-tier DSL. Land is fertile and flat. You are close to several small towns and under an hour from a major one.

Turbines cannot store energy, aside from a minimal amount that could be retained (for a very short time) from the inertia of the moving components.
>any way to store energy? Like, so you could use it at night to power lights, AC, etc.
You mean, a battery...?

Did you know about the Hours before their mention in the Agartha thread? I'm just curious.

I think the project/city name is kinda silly. Something like "Anonsberg", as stupid as that sounds, would be better, because we would separate ourselves from the crystal-healing hollow Earth stargate crowds.

Sure you can, but it's the same as gambling (the odds may be slightly better at 1:1). You can make or lose a fortune in seconds.

I already garden. Traditional, nonindustrial scale, agriculture is actually rather fun.

Are yall aware that the people who enforce parking regulations are poor students who are enrolled in the work study program? You aren't dicking with mall cops, you're dicking with kids who can't even afford a car, let alone a parking pass.

Fuck you OP. Grow up and adjust your schedule to accommodate for a full lot.

>> No.142875 [View]

Booby-trapping your car won't invalidate the ticket, won't prevent them from fining you in the future, but will open you to possible litigation from the people you assault (what the police and lawyers will call it).

An easier option would be to leave home earlier so that you have enough time to find a parking spot. I parked off campus and walked/rode a bicycle for several years.

tl;dr
Stop being a lazyfag and grow up.

I still think you'd be better off with a primarily agricultural base, which will support a textile factory. These textiles can be sold outright, or further processed into clothing/etc.

Take the agricultural waste (and human waste) and route it all to a central methane digester [http://energybible.com/bio_energy/methane_digesters.html]. This will provide some electricity (perhaps enough to cover dark hours when solar is offline?) The compost that is produced by the digester can then be returned to the ag base to create a closed loop. Sell the carbon offsets to corporations.

While this is happening, develop a local currency, like the Ithaca Hour [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ithaca_Hours], that is used for most of the city's needs. Outside currency is still an option (and encouraged), but a strong local currency will keep most of the money/effort local. Dollars should be used for medical care, taxes, and other external needs. Perhaps develop a rough exchange rate and exchange center?
No one has proposed under what conditions, and how, a person will be removed from the project. If I buy land I'm there till the end. But if I refuse to participate, will everyone else be willing to support me? What about plain old personality disagreements? You will need some sort of justice system or public forum for airing out disagreements.

What part of Texas op, I'm in san Antonio and can recommend several good spots. When in doubt, call your local brew supply, they are just as broke/cheap as you are.

FWIW, all toilets are not created equal. There is absolutely no standard for flushing power (they only have to flush 10 lightweight balls to be sellable).

Consider buying a power flow toilet. Still low flow compliant, but there is a pressurized jet that blasts shit down the pipe.

I think textile manufacturing works well with what you seem to be hinting at. Both wool and cotton/linen would be do able. You can sell raw product or build the manufacturing base and sell bolts of cloth. You could continue this and sell high-end durable clothing (which you'd have to have any way). These are all thinks that the USA used to do, but are now (almost exclusively) outsourced.
