just hold the fucking thing straight and dont over-do it

the more you sharpen it the more you round (dull) it

hold at a bit under a 45 degree angle and swipe, flip over, swipe, check edge

usually i do this about 3 times

im assuming you mean honing and not actually sharpening, which is a little more involved

theres some things you can chinkshit
out on, and some things you cant

buying all brand new tools at home depot is a lel tier meme, i almost never buy brand new tools because either they're a) fucking trash, or b) too stupidly expensive

do yourselves a favor and start buying used quality tools

snap on used on ebay will cost you less in the long run

i got a blue point 3/4 impact off ebay the guy said was just for parts, i took it apart and fixed it without spending another cent

the ball bearing was just getting stuck on a sharp edge, as the start-up torque is too low to budge the ball bearing over the ridge. die grinded that ridge down smooth on both sides and shes good as new

i break dozer tracks stump pans grader tires you name it all day with that puppy

try starting your car with your cheapo key, while holding the real one close

once it starts, get rid of the real key

if it stays running, then the solution is easy, find the relay that closes when that key is near, cut the one control
wire that supplys the 12v with key near, and just plumb in straight 12v off your igniton key on --> start momentary post.

what i do in a situation like this is just run new wires

fuck tracing wiring waste of time

run new wires right from your switch back, ground each light seperately to the frame to stop backfeeding.

but in this case OP you put a single filament bulb in place of a dual filament bulb

go back and buy the proper bulb guy

you guys think about your tools way too much

just use em and get the job done it dont matter what the tooth count of your taiwanese fuck stick is

shorter ratchets are better because you can fit in tight spots and you can always go cut a chunk of pipe for a snipe when you need more jam

>> No.1478739 [View]

phase converter probably not worth

what you need is either an old treadmill to use for parts (motor, speed control) or a VFD

you can use a VFD to convert single to three phase but you need to double the rating of the motor

ie: want to run 3hp 3 phase motor on single phase, need 6hp vfd

they dont like you doing it but it can be done

ebay has motors/vfd combo deals always

>> No.1478738 [View]

just use the fucking controller the way it is

me/my father built a house that he currently lives in

i think youre severly underestimating the amount of work it takes

it took about 6 years working when the weather was at least above 0, (may - sept). after working 8 hours a day, go home and build house for another 4-5 then go to bed, rinse repeat, work all day weekends

he worked at a big mill, and every day for a little while he took home 'core spinouts' from the lathe

about 14 inches diameter nice wood, he took them home and stacked em, let em dry 2-3 years

in that time we built a chainsaw sawmill, we're bother welders and heavy duty mechanics we do this kind of shit for fun anyways

so now we could shape the logs and make them flat on 3 sides to be able to bolt them together into panels

the house itself is 2 stories, living room, kitchen somewhat joined. bathroom beside kitchen, 2 rooms upstairs in the loft, hardwood flooring, the works.

it might not sound like much, but its retarded intensive. foundation, sewer, building inspectors, electrical, plumbing, power, water, heat, roofing, painting/staining, windows, drive way, stairs, all the little finishing touches

we're still not done its been like 8 years since he finally moved in.

its not something you do in one summer, its something thats ongoing, costs a fuck of a lot more money than you think. whatever your budget is, double it at least by the time youre done.

is it satisfying? yea i dont know, not really. your wife would probably leave you before you finish as she'll have given up way early
