leafspring crossbow op, or in this case leafspring ballista, its the most realistic option.
but it's not like building a siege weapon is going to be any more legal than you owning an airgun without an airgun license in your country

and though it's probably marginally safer than a coil spring, a snapping cable under tension is still not something to fuck with

if you really want to do the portable camping stove on it, bolt it on so it doesn't slide around and become an even bigger firehazard.
pain in the dick to cook shit though if its not 100% steady while you're cooking though since whatever is on top of it can still slide off

you could also just attach two pontoons to your existing canoe to make it not tipsy

i've been using a fucking balloon pump lately for all my blowing needs
works surprisingly well when you cant get to your compressor

will save a lot of resin too that way as well, that stuff can be pretty damn expensive

during your tests with the cups you could also try and test the clarity of multiple pours, so that you could place objects at different depths throughout it.

this thread kinda makes me wonder what a full cast copper or cast iron guitar would sound like.
not that you could play one without slipping a disc

i'd say to make a relative mold based off a template guitar at least if you were going to go for the full resin guitar
breathing in resin dust sucks dick, and so does getting it in your eyes, so the less cutting you have to do the better you're off really.

if you're still gonna do the wood base, could just get one of those unfinished kits for cheap, then take the mold, then beat the shit out of the kit, rip chunks off of it, jam it back in the mold and pour.

couldn't tell you really, you'd have to look it up for anything lighter weight
we used to make prototype parts for electrical transformers, but we also fucked around and made some canes with the stuff, basically 1 inch roundstock and it was a lot heavier than hardwood, would compare the weight to a thick walled steel pipe of the same length. We had problems with cracks forming long the canes too, but mind you we were just pouring it down into a mold, so just casting, not injection molding or anything pressurized.
there was also a catalyst we used, some pretty nasty stuff, burns the shit out of your lungs if you breath it in but since you wanted it to cure pretty slow, you shouldn't need any catalyst anyways. Also if you get any of the shit on your hands, acetone is about the only thing that gets it off I found.

just when you're playing a guitar all that weight will be on your neck, a sturdy but light wood as your base should help offset the weight but just keep in mind that the more resin you use in your design as fill, the heavier it'll get.

>>1190453
maybe a holesaw then a hammer + spike/chisel on the edges to gash it up a bit would work well for that

>> No.1190446 [View]

keep in mind op that resin can be heavy as shit

>>1189939
probably be okay
most of the bubbles will be made when you stir it around, and you should be able to see most of those bubbles before you even pour it.
if you want lots of bubbles just stir the shit out of it, can experiment a bit just pouring it into plastic cups or some shit to get used to working with the stuff

>>1190425
might help with clarity depending on the resin you use

no idea about brasso, but I've heard toothpaste works though I've never tried it myself.

I would probably have tried it at some point if I didn't still have my crank cd doctor, works with water and friction, so I'd suggest before rubbing brasso or toothpaste all over your disks to just try buffing it out with water and a clean cloth

the trick I think would be getting sizes that dont interact with eachother annoyingly, causing a twisting and turning feeling of the nail. The lacquer might interfere to a small degree but the size doesn't matter too much as long as its enough to tug or push on the nail slightly, it being a big bulge wouldn't matter much to me.

the most convenient ones I think would be square magnets just a bit smaller than each nail, you'd want them all to affect their own nails about the same amount I think

you might as well just stick your arm inside the hole with a ham sandwich if you even for a moment thought that was a good idea

doing it to multiple nails could be interesting, you'd likely get a triangulation effect, like being able to feel the heat around a lightbulb gives the rough shape of the lightbulb

yikes@#2
how high up is that? would you be able to get a ladder up there?

if you dont wanna kill it def get a pro, enclosed spaces and raccoons is bad, I don't have any experience with opossums but I can't imagine they're all that much better about you sticking your face into their nest.

patching the first seems easy as long as as you can get a ladder up there, but with the second you, kinda have a hole through your fucking roof, and that probably needs more than a patch job around that area with all the water damage, and even the ugliest fix (probably like a shit tonne of spray foam?) is gonna be pretty expensive, but not getting #2 fixed will cost you a lot more than having a couple animals in your attic.

theres a listing of trappers in the states in this website, their rates will vary, and will probably be cheaper than buying the equipment yourself
http://www.wildlife-removal.com/opossum-attic.html

if you have balls bigger than your brains you could also make a snare pole, but then the matter comes of 'where the fuck do I put this thing now that I'm strangling it and it is lashing around'

>>962800
that just seems like a good way to make your neighbours call the fire department when they see plumes of smoke coming from your attic
could be fun
the fire fighters might even kill the opossums for you with the high pressure hoses

find sources of the leaks and mold first
mold is awful but it'll slowly come back if you clean it if you don't at least nigger rig a fix while saving up for a proper fix.
check foundation for cracks, both inside and outside, they're expensive as hell to fix properly, and get worse every year if you're in an area that freezes, so you'll need to inform your parents of it, because you'll never afford that.
if it's just lines leaking you're a bit better off, though it could just as likely be the siding, or your roof, you just need to do a good inspection and track the problems down.
water is one of the most destructive forces to homes.

don't put any of your money into it unless its small stuff that can prevent a lot of damage, like if your shower isn't caulked or needs to be re-caulked, caulk your shower.

heres an example you might have an easier time listening to

say I had a screwdriver bit, and I attached it to the end of my finger so I could drive screws without having a screwdriver.
that is the situation that implanting the magnet has, I could just as easily always have a screw driver, or more accurate to what I'm saying, a ring that has the screwdriver on it.
I'd then never have to explain to TSA that there is an implant, I'd never have to worry about MR scanners, there would be no healing time and no initial pain, and if and when I found it inconvenient or uncomfortable I could take off the ring and put it back on after, and it could go on any finger including dominant ones without being in the way
