Guys I have a pair of headphones (mic and headphones combo) that my wife's cat but in half.

I have spent a heap of cash buying soldering irons and clamps and doing everything I can to diy a fix.

There's 6 absolutely miniscule wires and even melting the plastic from each individual wire without damaging the wires is an almost impossible task.

I used to love this. I own two soldering irons already and I grew up with electrical kite but this tiny shit is impossible for me..

The headphones were about $250 and I've spent $60 on equipment to try and fix it.

Is there a company you can send this shit to where they'll rewire the entire thing again or something?

I'm already in deep, I just want the damn things fixed. I already replaced them with an expensive Bluetooth pair but what a god damn waste!

Any ideas guys? Honestly I do not have the steady hand, high quality equipment or skill required to finish this myself.

Similar to pic related but more wires. One even weaves around another. It's a nightmare.

Take a picture of the wires please. Depending on where the cat bit the wire it might make more sense to just shorten the cables. A guitar place might be able to re-cable the headphones for you too.

im having the exact same issue but with qc20s

the wires are fucking tiny

look up AWG 31 , i think they are 0.22 mm in diameter, for comparison, a nervebundle in the human body is 0.45-0.6 mm or more in diameter

as for melting the isolation, you can use pliers to stop the burning , so you hold the wire at the spot until you want to remove it from

as for connecting wires, you have to tin your iron, then tin both ends of each wires and then solder them together, it's doable but it won't look nice , at least it didn't for me and im using a 0.3 mm diameter soldering tip

its funny cus i was having static noise in my left ear so i replaced the wires and i still had it so i got mad and just ripped everything out now i'm just sitting here with a broken left ear lol

I spent years fixing the same pair of cheap headphones and I can tell you there's absolutely no point in trying to splice those thin chink-tech wires. Unless of course you're happy fixing it once a month, in which case go nuts.

Replace the whole cable.
