>after all, the ac is unservisable, because it is very old

1) a new capacitor
2) gas refill
3) and maintenance
>told him to do it.
>he bought extra parts I did not ask for
>he never mentioned me he was going to buy a second capacitor
>never told me he was going to buy a new filter
>I only found out about it when he was done with the job
>the air blower now spins very slow
>total costs is; $200 USD
>the company that used to service me the ac used to charge me $100 USD for a bigger ac
>I did paid the main, because I felt it was my fault for trying to get a cheaper service

>right now, I am calling my old company and asking for a diagnose on the ac
>i just want to know what the guy did
>the company told me I was fucking robbed
>the guy used cheap and used parts on my ac
>the capacitor was not even the same capacitance as the old ome
>they didnt even connect the wires correctly
>they did not even assamble the parts correctly

So yeah, I guess only a fucking moron as myself would dare to call a guy instead of a real company. I could had bought a new ac for $350.00 usd instead of servicing an old unit for $200.00 usd

I wont press charges, but FUCK I hate myself for being such a dumb fuck

Wont happen again, and I hope this serves as a lesson for the people out there, servicing their ac's

DONT FUCKING CALL A "GUY WHO KNOWS". CALL A GOD DAMN COMPANY. IF THE UNIT IS UNSERVISABLE, TO THE TRASH IT GOES.

Also how the fuck does someone fuck up switching a capacitor? I'm guessing he didn't know which one to get which is why he bought two and explains the lack of power.

My residential company is considered average in price and we charge $150 for just annual service (filter and fill-up). If you get a capacitor we charge $200. His rate was average for a company, and if your other company did $100 then they're good but are they really filling it? The main shut offs are in the attic somewhere (3 stories) unlabled and each resident had to be notified before shutting off the water. Have to shut one off and radio after 3-5 mins after bleeding the line if the water stopped. Smart enough to know these things can’t be fixed without shutting off the water.

if he put gauges on it, it requires a license. though any refridgeration guy can tell if a system is low just buy blocking airflow on the on the evap coil like with a piece of cardboard.

only an idiot breaks out the gear and taps into a system if they don't have too because it can cause a leak.

i skimmed over the thread and am not sure what filter was purchased, an air filter or the one that requires all the coolent be pumped out and reclaimed, unsoldred and the the new one soldered on.

15 years ago when i was in the field my place of employment charged $60 an hour plus parts. i have no diea what rates are like now.

if the capacitor was for the pump there is no way around it. for a fan/blower, sometimes a pony motor is a cheaper way to go and they last longer, but thats more for walk in coolers than air conditioning.

If you want to try getting him fined you can certainly try, but going after him for fraud is a hell of a lot more likely to work. Also if he hacked it together with an old capacitor and the system was low do you really think he’d put a filter dryer in? Or just throw some more refrigerant in till it starts blowing cold air?
