i was working on a hand chiseled wooden cereal bowl but I usually only spend about 30 mins to 1 hr a day on it because it is really monotonous. I honestly need a new project, any suggestions anyone? =/

Looking into designing a steampunk forearm glove. Because why the fuck not. No experience with glovemaking and no IDEA where to acquire things like.. you know.. cogs and gears and shit... Also, had a tech project in mind but i'm not strong willed enough to bother starting it. Doesn't help that it's probably illegal..

You need to seal the edges of the fabric with a clear drying glue. Elmers will work. Use a 3/4 glue, 1/4 water ratio. Mix, and apply to the raw edges with a paintbrush. Three coats should work.

Those screws do look pretty out of place, but with some decently weighted wire, you could turn them into trees. [http://www.cutoutandkeep(dot)net/projects/wire-tree ---> Use this tutorial as a reference on how to make roots/branches.]

Sew a tiny pillow for the thing, and make an itty bitty book to put in it. A tiny blanket would also be a great addition.

It could be a great gift. It just needs some imagination.

building a freely scalable printer (it's a vehicle with output equipment, essentially).

Using arduinos, hacked together with optical mouse sensors for positioning. Will put it into an old Power Macintosh 4400/7220 chassis, using the original HDD case to shield the non-transmitter electronics.
The output module will be exchangeable so that you could for example mount some kind of compressor and spray paint contraption onto it as well as a sander or whatever you can think of.

The device prints the image by driving over the user designated area in rows, getting data out of an array or a string that was sent from the drawing app that I will program for android devices.

I am planning to make this open source, so you can have fun with the documentation when the project is finished.

Sorry, no photos yet. Also, first arduino project. lol.

Nah, I like it here. I actually like OP's idea. Miniaturization of everyday scenes can produce some really cool stuff when it's done well.

OP's on the right track, but I really do believe that he/she needs to be more picky when selecting components for their miniatures. The screw really isn't doing it for me. I would also suggest a thinner material for the hammock itself. Something that can fold and bend under it's won weight would give a more authentic look to the piece.

>> No.95115

>>95086
you shut up. your attitude is condescending and fucking retarded. if there were more people like you in the world, we would all be dead due to incompetence. fact is not everything is special and magical, some things are complete and utter shit, like ops project. its a piece of cloth tied to a bolt. nothing genius about it.

Finished this at 3am; the denim is actually nearly as dark as the black wool cap on the right. I've finished a pattern which I hope will work into a pair of denim slippers using linoleum strap to fill the soles. They'll look like shit but I'm not leaving the house in them.

Man, I have always, always wanted to do stuff like this. I've wanted to do it for a job too, but I don't want to move to California to do it.

Making stuff like that, especially after looking at Volpin's stuff, is so awesome. I guess it would help that I used to play Warhammer, so I know the techniques used to paint the shit.

I've just finished several batches of home brew beer for Christmas/New Years. Tomorrow I'll be putting another on to replenish my stocks.

Other than that not much. I'm considering making my own large format cameras but I'm going to need to sink some cash into proper wood working machinery and a CNC mill of some sort. Haven't got the cash for that anytime soon.
