Any tips on making a Medevil-Esqe Bow?

Buy lots of thin sheets of high quality hardwood, cut them into small strips, then laminate yourself a nice board along with a riser. Cut out your shape, then get a plane. Plan down the thickness from the back only, leaving the front a uniform piece. Once you can bend it, string it and see how it twists and bends. Keep planing until it's even. Done.

You can make a serviceable bow out of any hardwood. It doesn't even take that long if you have a good knife.
