Im starting a small etsy store selling Wooden tobacco pipes like these and i need someone to design a simple logo for me. something i can print onto labels to put on my boxes and my store page. The name i want is "Gerudo Valley Pipe Company". The labels are white and 2 inches x 4 inches and will be placed on light brown boxes. If someone could post a design i could use, id pay you like $10. Its a small project.

tl;dr I need a 2"x4" logo that says Gerudo Valley Pipe Company ill give you $10 if i like yours.

I'd really love some help on this.

Idea: Your name in the shape of a pipe. Font would resemble that of stonerrock bands, you catch my drift.

I can't do it cause but you can have the idea.

are you fucking kidding me? $10 for a logo?! you are a joke.

i cant believe i'm giving you advice but seriously, with an etsy store you dont even need a logo. just use the same clean font on all your packaging, banner etc. look at some classy shops on etsy and see what fonts they are using (helvetica & courier are popular). you can even get your shop name made into a rubber stamp online (vistaprint) to stamp onto your tags.

use your head. a decent logo from a real designer does not cost $10, and your request is just perpetuating problem for penniless designers who'll do anything for a quick buck

Let me explain my work, it'll probably be hard to understand at first because of all the stylized images.

First of all, the black bend in the middle is obviously a pipe. I made is a minimal as a pipe silhouette can get, it'll be the symbol for what you produce, yet accustomed to the easthetics of the modern age.

Beneath, the slogan. Short, powerfull, catchy. No nonsense, use the pipe! I replaced the O with a stylized and minimal tobaccoleaf, since that's what you smoke in a pipe.

On top, you company name in bright red. Demands attention without becoming tacky. I'm sure the urban youth will appreciate this one.

That'll be 10$ please. Give me your email.

When I see a logo, I think mass-produced by a large corporation. You're a craftsman, not a corporation. You want to give your product that hand-made-with-skill vibe. And nothing speaks classy and hand-made like a text-mark made by a wood burning branding iron.

What kind of wood do you use? What kind of stain/finishes? And lastly what kind of tools are you using? I've tried making wooden pipes, they've been successful, but they just don't look too professional. How do you get a perfect rounded bowl? Sorry for all the questions but you seem like you know what you're doing considering you're getting a logo made for you and I'm a noob with any type of woodworking...

>> No.81833

>>81619
You need a good hardwood for pipes. Briar is preferred, but it's also a bitch to find, so i used red oak instead. I stain them with natural linseed oil and polish with natural beeswax. The tools are basically a drill press, a scroll saw and a belt sander. (all Harbor Freight, and all work well. HF Drill presses and angle grinders work so well.) My bowls are flat-bottomed because I use a Forstner bit. Pros use a modified paddle bit which is cut to create a round-bottomed hole.
basically, know your grit.
