Hey guys,

So I made a wood case for an iPhone a while ago I thought you might be interested in seeing it :)
Complete with instructions here http://www.instructables.com/id/Wooden-iPhone-Case/

meh... while i appreciate the idea and the effort, your finished product looks like shit, I am sorry to say.

Unsanded edges, the holes on the bottom not horizontal, the button recess misaligned, and
>dem screws

So i would say, cool first prototype, now get back and make a good one.

I disagree. The imperfections give it much need character which is hard to come by these days especially with anything iphone related.

OP, keep it exactly the way it is. This is a thing you made with your own two hands and you should constantly be reminded of that. Besides, it's going to get scuffed up and chipped regardless because that's just what wood does.

Extremely decent even with all of the perceived flaws. I approve.

k thx

PS don't say you're sorry when you actually enjoy being mean ;)

Not that guy, but there is a difference between character and poor craftsmanhip. OP falls into the latter.

> rough edges are going to catch on pockets/items in bags, which will splinter up strips of grain
> poorly countersunk screws, heads butchered (really? how hard is it to drive a screw you hamfisted retard?)
> no oil/varnished finish to help protect the wood from moisture/liquid spills.
> those fucking holes at the bottom.
> that fucking cut out that does not line up with the button.
> whatever the nut in pic related is supposed to be.

I agree with >>789476. This is pre-alpha. Now is the time for OP to review what he has done wrong and do better. A few more of these and he might have something to be proud of.

Sorry if that all seems harsh, but i'm here to help OP, not please him. We all should be.

Looks nice, though some extra finishing work would make it look superb.

Some sanding in the edges and fixing the alignment, plus some cleaned up recessed screws would look beautiful.

I think it's a fantastic proof of concept OP! A couple of finishing touches would make the final product perfect, pilot holes before you use screws would be good - countersinking also. Remember - measure twice, cut once.

OP, don't mind these guys. They sound bitter. Your product looks freaking fantastic. I agree you'll need to refine it, smooth edges, symetrical fitted screws, etc. With a bit of polish you'll have a great product.

Maybe also fix the blowout near the camera...

I'd have done some things differently, but the finished product looks really great none the less.

Maybe. OP is deluges from instructables and posted this project there over 6 months ago, so anyone can post his pics.

It's a rough prototype for sure but has a lot of potential. I like the idea of the wooden switch to operate the silent mode. I think you're right a few more tries to iron out the bugs and this will be a dope case.

No, I critiqued the shit out of it,using another picture from his instructable which seems to show some sort of nut-button on the side. I >>789488 am not OP.

He actually made good points.
Its a mediocre job, rushed and unpolished.
