Steel wire. Use cilindrical objects to bend it in loops or rigid edges to bend it at angles. or you can loot spring steel from your cars windshield wipers.

If you heat it up considerably (with a blow torch) and leave it to cool gradually the steel will become softer and more elastic (the process opposite of quenching).

That won't make it more elastic but more pliable.
OP, try quenching it in oil.

Tempering makes steel more elastic and plastic. Queching makes it harder and more brittle (prone to bnreak).

1) go to hardware store
2) ask for a small package of assorted springs
3) even if none are perfect, maybe you can bend them how you need them

small springs are made from very thin carbon steel wire that isn't real common in other stuff. the only think i can think of is to get some push-button pens and try to bend one of those to do what you need.

alternately, remote-control hobby shops usually sell pieces of straight music wire.
