Hey, /diy/

I trying to make a pair of the goggles/glasses in this picture, but I don't really know where to start. Is there a name for these things? Or do I have to make everything from scratch? How would I go about doing this, /diy/?

Here's a tutorial for a similar pair of steampunk goggles, OP.

Sorry, but the picture is a safety glasses? of some sort, not goggles. I found another picture, if anyone has the source, or at least I hope this clarifies some things.

are you cosplaying as dr. steel, op? that would be swell.

You can use the part about making the eyepieces themselves, the jar part. As for the sides, they are supposed to be metal I assume? You can find netting at the hardware store or use aluminum, cut it into the shape you want, then glue/solder it on perhaps? Maybe find a pair of metal glasses and use the sides/nose piece.

I would if I could grow a goatee like that. Unfortunately for me that would take around a year.

You could always get a fake one from the costume shop. Though rocking the chrome dome isn't high up on my to-do list since I'm not as badass as he is.

They don't have to be Wilson. There were lots of goggles made in that style in the 20's and 30's. Sometimes as driving goggles even.

Not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for but google welding goggles. I picked up a pair from a hardware store for about $4.
