Shit guys, I done goofed.

Riding high on the success of flawlessly replacing a toilet fill valve, I tried to replace a tub spout. The old one was stuck in the shower position.

I installed it exactly like how the instructions say, and it works fine... until I pull up the handle. Then all the water comes out of that plastic part behind the actual nozzle, and only a little bit out of the shower (but not at a high enough pressure). What did I do wrong? Or did I buy the wrong thing?

You bought the wrong one.
That one is for those handheld shower thingies for when there's no actual shower plumbing.

Goddammit. It doesn't say anything about that on the packaging, and I didn't even notice that plastic bit until I had already opened it. Oh well. Thanks.
